Skydance Paramount Will Eliminate Nearly 2,000 American Positions – News

Paramount Skydance plans to begin mass layoffs the week of 27 October, cutting nearly 2,000 positions in the United States as part of a cost-cutting plan totaling $2bn under new chief executive David Ellison.

These job cuts come after the union between Skydance Media and Paramount Global, which closed during August valued at $8.4bn.

Additional international job cuts are expected, with the company intending to reveal full details during its third-quarter financial update on 10 November.

Prior news suggested that Paramount planned to cut from 2,000 and 3,000 jobs by early November.

As of December 2024, the organization had almost 18,600 permanent and temporary staff along with 3,500 project-based staff.

The organization did not immediately respond regarding the report.
